Homemade Corn Tortillas

Fresh corn tortillas from just Maseca, warm water, and salt. It’s a process that’s totally worth it.

Homemade Tortillas Change the Game

We’ve all heard it before: “homemade is better.” And sure, it makes sense that making things fresh and from scratch are “better.” There’s also the reality of modern living and the time we all have available, so making everything from scratch isn’t always feasible. However, I’m here to argue for the homemade corn tortilla.

You can buy the pack from the store, that’s what I’ve done for years (and in a pinch, I still will). But those are so far from what you get when you make them yourself. They actually taste like corn (what a concept, right?). And the texture is simultaneously more tender and more sturdy, resulting in a much more satisfying bite that holds your taco juices in beautifully.

It takes some time and practice to make them just right, but once you’ve had it this way you’ll be hard pressed to go back to store-bought.
